Part of what we do on this website is to review/feature products, services and local businesses. To ensure transparency we will always declare how we received a product/services and what, if any benefit in-kind was involved around the review.
Regardless of how we acquired a product or service we will at all times publish truthful reviews based on our experiences of the product in real world situations.
We are a British website, but read across the world by people looking to visit the Peak District. Therefore we are happy to comply with guidelines from people like the ASA in the UK and the FTC in the US to ensure readers can trust what we say.
Types of Review
The type of review will be stated on the page containing the review and refers to one of the following:
Purchased
Where we purchase a product or service and subsequently review it on this website. At the time of review no payment or benefit in kind has been received or is expected from the supplier/manufacturer of the product/service.
Loaned
Where a product has been loaned to us or a service is provided for a limited period of time (for example a taster of a subscription service) for the purposes of review. The benefit in kind derived would be the use of the product or service for the loan/subscription period.
Free
Where a product or service is provided to us for the purpose of review, the benefit to us being the use of that product/services free of charge.
Costs Covered
Where a product or service is provided to us for the purpose of review, the benefit to us being the use of that product/services free of charge. In addition the supplier has contributed some or all of the costs of reviewing the product, for example consumables, travel costs.
Paid
Where a product or service is provided to us for the purpose of review, and a fee has been paid over and above that which would cover the costs incurred by us to review it.
If further clarification is required it will appear on a review as appropriate.
